The All-Russian Olympiad of School Students, which includes 24 subjects, is the main and most prestigious Olympiad in our country. Its winners and prize-winners are able to enter MSU and choose profile specialty without any competition. So, 1,043 winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian Olympiad of School Students in various subjects became MSU students in the period from 2016 to 2019. They study at 28 faculties of Moscow State University. Traditionally, most of the biology, geography, philology and chemistry olympiads winners and prize-winners enter profile faculties. This year 242 winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian Olympiad of School Students will study at 21 faculties.
In addition, Russian teams are formed from the Olympiads winners to participate in the international contests. Over the past 2 years, 17 members of the Russian national teams in biology, geography, chemistry, astronomy have entered MSU. They represented various regions of our country: Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Republic of Tatarstan, the Republic of Udmurtia, the Vologda, Saratov, Novosibirsk and Chelyabinsk regions. School Students in total won 14 medals at international olympiads: 3 gold and 4 silver medals in biology; 2 gold and 1 silver medal in chemistry; gold, silver and bronze medals in geography; gold medal in astronomy and astrophysics. Three future first-year students are preparing to perform at the international contests in geography, astronomy and astrophysics in August 2019.
