Russian team have turned in a good score at the 27th International Biology Olympiad, which was held from 17 to 22 July, 2016 in Hanoi (Vietnam). 252 participants from 64 countries competed in the theoretical and practical stages. Gold medal was won by Sergei Busygin (Moscow), silver medals were won by Azbukina Nadejda and Polinova Almina (Moscow region), bronze medal was won by Yegor Shishkin (Moscow region). Children will be the students of the first year at the Faculty of Bioengineering and Bioinformatics and the Faculty of Biology at Lomonosov Moscow State University.
The preparation of the national team, which has been traditionally held at the Faculty of Biology in recent years, was initiated by many teachers and researchers, as well as students and young scientists, who were in the national team previously. Professor of the Faculty of Biology of Lomonosov Moscow State University A.M. Rubtsov and associate professor G.A. Belyakova worked in the jury of the Olympiad.
